The two main providers of writing courses in South Yorkshire are:

Writing Groups

There are many writing groups throughout the South Yorkshire area but there is no one source of information about them. A number of groups are "closed" to the general public but there are many more which are open to all regardless of ability or experience.

The best way to find out about writing courses in your area would be to go along to one of the Writers Resource Centres in Sheffield, Barnsley or Rotherham Central Library where you could discuss your needs with our advisor.

For more details of the Writers Resource Centres please look here - Writers Resource Centre

If you live in the Sheffield area there is a database of writing groups on the Sheffield Information Services "Help yourself" database.

The contact details are here:

http://www.sheffieldhelpyourself.org.uk/

If you type in "Writers" you'll be taken to a list of groups, go through them and then go back to the start and type in "Writing" and you will be shown some different ones.

If you would like to discuss any of the groups before you go along you could always drop into one of the Writers Resource Centres in Sheffield, Barnsley or Rotherham It's a drop in service, there's no need to book just drop in. Writers Resource Centre
